# 4b - CP English 1

Hello, all. My apologies for not being able to be with you today. Here is what you'll be doing in my absence:

###

### First

Read the rest of **Wednesday, July 8th and part of Thursday, July 9th** in *Monster*.

I've attached the **audio** for the section you need to read below. It starts a little bit before where we left off last class (I think it was around page 79).

{% file src="/files/srC221k0nVP0PbRgHNX6" %}

###

### Then

1. Choose **the three social values** below that you think are **most important** in *Monster* *(if there are ones you don't know, Google them so that you know what they all mean)*:
   * Justice
   * Status
   * Dignity
   * Equality
   * Safety
   * Loyalty
   * Honesty
   * Wealth
   * Respect / Reputation
   * Belonging
   * Empathy
2. Brainstorm a list of **as many moments as possible** in the book that demonstrate either the **importance of** or the **need for more of** that social value.
   1. For each moment, please write a **brief** description of the moment. You do not need to use exact quotes, and you do not need page numbers.
   2. For example, if you chose the social value of **Wealth**, one of your list items might look like this:
      * *When Steve, King, Bobo, and Peaches were sitting on the stoop talking about needing to get paid*
3. Please upload a picture of your list to Seesaw by the **end of class today.** If it is not uploaded by the **end of class today,** you will not receive credit for it.

There is no homework tonight.

If you have questions, reach out via Remind, and I will answer if I am available to do so.

Be well, and enjoy your lives until the next time I see you.

*- Hessler*
